Can Flax seed oil capsules cause 'd'? It's not supposed to.

Good morning,

I did a search on flax seed oil and see that a few of you take it. So I bought some last night as it's SUPER beneficial to the entire body. It's also listed as very helpful for IBS-C and IBS-D.

I woke up with 'd' this morning and hadn't had that in a while. I'm trying to figure out of it was the flax seed oil caplets or maybe the cinnamon swirl bread that I ate?

Anyone have any trouble with taking flax seed oil capsules? Thanks.

Sorry I don't know the answer to this question, but maybe somebody else will. Good luck!

Hmmm, how rich was the cinnamon swirl bread and how much of it did you eat????? Since flax seed oil is supposed to help d not cause it, it doesn't seem likely to be the problem. But I'd wait a few days then try again.

Well, I take the seeds and grind them up to add fiber, but I am IBS-C. The first couple of days that I started them, I did have D twice and I NEVER get D. For me it was a welcome change! Now that I have been on them for about a week, along with my magnesium supplements, I am having softer BM's about twice a day. I would say that they "could" cause D, since they are a source of high fiber. A site I was reading on said that some people add it to their horses feed, but they have to be very careful not to add more than a handful because it gives the horses D, so makes sense it could do it to us too...

Ya, I don't think so either.

The cinnamon swirl bread isn't rich at all. But who knows what's in it as it's a bakery item.

I also made a chickpea and veggie couscous thing last night which I posted in the recipe area. I don't think it's that. Who knows? It's like being a detective, huh?
