Hi guys,
Is peppermint tea good for nausea, I'm so nautious today and I am trying to stomach peppermint tea in hopes it will help with my tummy, I don't have anything else except for chai and honey lemon ginsing, although I'm thinking to going to grocery store to get some tea, so what is the best tea to drink for nausia?
Thanks, Debra

Thanks,
I feel a little better after having that one cup of tea, a little affraid to eat anything now, ugh!!!
Is nausia a common thing for IBS, can decide if it's the IBS or if I'm coming down with something, although I have been nausious through the past couple of weeks, thought it was my period, but that is ending now, so don't know.
Thanks again, Debra

YES nausea is definately an IBS symptom. I'm IBS-C and nausea is one of my main symptoms. I've become accustomed to it so I usually don't pay much attention to it and just go on with my day unless it's really bad but it usually isn't unbearable. You SHOULDN'T be throwing up though. Vomiting is not an IBS symptom.
The peppermint and ginger tea help me a lot.....good luck!

Hi dmiller,
Kimm is right - vomiting is not a symptom of IBS. However, some symptoms of IBS can result in vomiting. For example, sometimes if I have extreme pain from an attack, I might vomit because of the pain.
I have nausea problems too, but I think I've determined that most of it is lack of eating. I get really nauseous and bad headaches when I don't eat. It sounds like since you've been afraid to eat that you might not be getting enough food inside you.
Hope this helps and welcome to the boards!

Ginger is really the best. If you happen to have fresh ginger in your house, slice some up and put it right in your tea or hot water, add some lemon if you like. My mom even gave it to my grandfather when he was ill from chemo and it helped him a lot. Hope you start feeling better, and I agree that an empty stomach could be the culprit, so try to eat something. Panda

Thanks Jennifer,
I think you might be right, I did eat some oatmeal and now I'm feeling better. I'll see what the afternoon brings, hopefully I'll stay feeling ok. Guess I'll have to make sure I eat something earlier in the morning now.
Thanks for your input.

Thanks Panda,
I do feel better now that I've had something to eat.
I have some Ginger Aide tea, but I can't stomach that stuff even when I'm feeling well, just don't like the taste. I'll have to get some real ginger and see if I can stomach that any better.
Thanks, Debra

For the taste, try adding some honey (tons if it, if you need to!)and lemon. Also you can just try adding slices of ginger to a tea you already like, or brewing the Ginger Aid tea bag in the same cup with another tea that you like. That's what I do sometimes with with Yogi Tea Stomach Ease, since I don't love the taste of it. Panda

That's a good idea, never thought to try that, I'll have to do that next time.
