What exactly are the effects of sorbitol?

I bought some Arizona green tea that has sorbitol in it. What exactly are the effects of sorbitol? I did a search and read that it is evil but I am curious as to the effects of it. I am a "C".

Just an FYI...I ate some "craisins" the other day in a salad...I had a brain fart and wasn't thinking. Oh my goodness my stomach is still poofy...the craisins did make me "go" though! I won't do that again but I am glad something good came out of it....no pun intended!

With me it's nausea, cramps and gas! Not fun at all. I even had to change my toothpaste as it made me so nauseous to just have it in my mouth.
