Hi,
I'm new to this site and have loved all of the information that I have found. I have dealt with IBS for about 10 years. About four months ago I stopped taking an anti-depressant that I had been taking for about 18 months and the IBS became so severe that I decided to finally see a doctor. She prescribed Kristalose to me. It is a non-habit forming laxative. Does anyone have any experience with it? Thanks!!

I also have IBS C,never heard of Kristalose, is it prescription? How long have you been on it and does it work??? I take Mira-lax even though it makes me more gassey  I will be on vacation until next Tuesday but let me know if it works for you! Happy Fourth!

Thank you for your reply. I actually just picked up my prescription today. I was hoping that it would be in a pill form, but it is actually a powder that you mix with water. One of the side effects can be nausea, and I have been experiencing that this afternoon. Other side effects can be bloating, gas, and cramps, which happen to be my biggest problems. I wish that my doctor would have been a little more thorough in explaining the side effects. I should have asked, but was just so excited to try something that might help. She did say that there are other non-habit forming laxitives available if this doesn't work for me. If I find out more about them I will let you know. Have a great vacation!!

Welcome to the board.
When I need to find information I always go the Google.com (which is a search engine). Type in kristalose and you will get alot of great info.
