Have been on the diet 6-7 weeks, and have gradually been increasing dosage of Benefiber. I am up to the max. dose of 2 tblspoons morning and evening. Am still 'C', occasionally get to 'go', but feel I am not evacuating fully, and eventually have to resort to MOM. Additionally, I am releasing some really foul gas.... a problem that I never had before. Is this a result of the Benefiber..... what else should I be doing?

I also sometimes get horrible, foul gas. I think my body has gotten more sensitive to some foods. I'm taking Acacia, but I don't think that's the cause of the gas. I've noticed that after eating vegetarian chili, broccoli, or cauliflower, I eventually get gas. The chili causes obnoxious odors.

I don't know if the Benefiber could be causing your problem. I think Metamucil was causing me icky gas, so I quite taking it. You might try taking Gas-X. I've been doing that as soon as I feel gas coming on. Sometimes I take another dose later as well. It really does seem to help. I also think being too backed up causes me to get gas.

Although I'm IBS-C, I've been doing a little better lately. I still take Zelnorm every other day, but I think Heather's diet (& SFS) might be helping me a little at this point. I've been on the diet for about a month.

Sorry you're having trouble. I know it's so embarrassing!
