Hi everyone, I dont understand why i get a stomach ache after eating egg whites when they are supposed to be good for us. Ive had them several times and each time I didnt feel too great afterwards. Today, at the cafeteria in school, I decded to try them again cause i realized ive been eating absolutely no protein, and the same thing happened. DO you think they could of cooked it wrong or something? DOes anyone else have trouble with egg whites and egg beaters?? Why cant i eat anything anymore?!?!?

Allergies and intolerances can develop at any age - it's possible that's what's happening to you. It could also be just one of those things you can't eat now, that you'll be able to eat again once you're more stable. For a while, I couldn't even eat baked goods that contained egg, much less sit down and eat actual cooked egg whites... a few months later, I can eat all of it again. Don't write them off completely yet, but you might want to avoid them for a while. Good luck!

I discovered that I cannot do boiled eggs. Makes me way too gassy. I can't explain why but if I scramble the egg up and cook it I handle it fine, but not boiled. GL!

Try "Just Whites" instead of Egg Beaters. Look at the ingredients of Egg Beaters, they have guar gum as an additive I believe. I cannot tolerate guar gum, it bothers me, you could be the same.

They are called:
Eggology 100% Egg Whites
There is nothing added and it says on the lable that they can be frozen indefinitely. Or Refrigerated for 3-4 months
They suggest adding tumeric if yellow color is desired.
3 tbs = 1 egg 2 tbs = 1 egg white
There is also a number to call for more info. 1 (888) No Yolks
I also agree that having egg whites cooked in a restaurant or cafe would probably have too much oil or butter. My husband made the same mistake and ordered egg whites on a bagle at a breakfast place. It did not sit well at all.
Good luck, Lefty

You could be getting sick if the egg whites you are eating are not organic. Conventional eggs contain all sorts of terrible things that can trigger IBS attacks. Heather recommends IBS people eat organic egg whites.
