Well, I'm still trying to become stable, and I've been trying to stay on the diet, but I don't think I've had a BM in the past five days! I'm in a lott of pain, and we don't have any laxitives of any kind (I live in the middle of nowhere).
I take Prodium (fiber pills), I take two a day, and they say 50 on them, so I'm assuming that they mean 50 grams, or miligrams, whatever.
I have a heating blanket on my abdomen right now, my mother's suggestion, because I can't take a hot bath or shower at the moment. But does anybody have any other home remedies? Advice?
(sorry about the bad spelling and sentence construction, I'm in a lot of pain and am talking on the phone)

I know it's hard but if you can manage it, it might help. Even if you have no herbal tea around, hot water with lemon juice and/or honey would work. I don't know why but this often helps me, the hot drink and then movement. I hope you feel better soon, I know how it is!!!

Heather's book (Eating for IBS) says that licorice, rhubarb, prunes, and figs are natural laxatives as are fresh fruits (if she shouldn't eat those things, someone PLEASE correct me. I'm not a doctor or an IBS expert). Also, people say that it helps to move around. I don't know if you can walk around with the heating blanket. Try to avoid eating/drinking things that are ice-cold. Sorry I don't have better advice. I'm new here and I'm not a "c"-er. I just got this from what I've read in the books and the message board. Sorry you're having trouble. I hope you feel better soon.

I've been trying to get stable too. Yoga, probiotics, and magnesium pills helps c.

Yes I 've found that this helps. I usually drink warm apple juice. I've found it to help, & excersize is crucial for C, as is patience. I hope you feel better soon.

And how much? And what type and how much magnesium? Do you take an SFS as well?

I take Udo's choice probiotic. It's pricey but I find my c is a lot better when I take it. I stopped taking it for a while but now I'm taking them again since when I don't take them my c is so much worse. I take Jamieson magnesium pills twice a day which adds up to 500mg. These are the only ones I can find that I can swallow and they are not tested on animals. What is SFS exactly?

I've tried Udo's Choice once before. How many do you take a day? Did you take yours on an empty tummy?
Is the magnesium Citrate, Oxide, Chelated, or Malate form? Do you take a Calcium with it or just straight Magnesium?
SFS is Soluble Fiber Supplement...such as Acacia, Metamucil, Benefiber, Citrucel...
Thanks for your input!

Your welcome.
Oh yeah I forgot sfs is soluble fiber supplement.I take Acacia fiber since there's no other fiber here to take which is crazy.
I don't take calcium pills since it makes my severe c way worse. I use to take them though a while ago but had to stop since it plugged me up.
I take the probiotic pills on a full tummy since it says on the bottle to do so. If you don't take it on a full stomach it can cause stomach upset by the way. I take 3 per day.
The magnesium pills have magnesium oxide, glycerophosphate and malate.
Have a good day.

Lavender Oil always helped me with severe pain...of all types. My pain, abdominal and deep body aches were so much that I couldn't sleep. My mother would rub it all over me and it would sooth everything enough to go to sleep. It helped more than any of the pain meds I was on.
I encourage you to look into essential oils. I'm sure that are some that would specically help with constipation
