I'm not taking an SFS either. They just make me go and go, which I can do on my own since I'm a D. If I take one cirtucel tablet, it takes 2 days for it to work, and when it does, it causes horrible cramping and orange D which doesn't stop until everything's out of me. The consistancy is so different than my regular D that I know it's the citrucel. Even a few sips of the powdered liquid will produce the same effects, which I have duplicated a few times when I overdo it on the Imodium and get C as a result. Those are happy days, the C days, but at a certain point, after 10 days or so I have to make myself go again!!

I started taking SFS about a week - week 1/2 of the diet, I needed to. Because allthough I was mostly D, I would get C on the diet, and the SFS took care of that and balanced me out. If I was stable, but still able to go on my own, I would not take it. It may help me in other ways, but it is too hard to tell.
Don't get me wrong, I love my acacia, but if I didn't need it I wouldn't take it.
Maybe now is not the right time for you, but you will need it later, who knows?

Has anyone told you that you look a little like Helen Hunt? (the actress from Mad about you and Twister and the one with Jack Nicholson). Everytime I read one of your posts I think of Helen Hunt smiling at me!

i started the acacia about a month ago and it has helped me to have more formed bm's as opposed to the frequent loose ones i was having trouble with before. i have noticed more gas then normal but i didn't associate that with the SFS-until now. it's interesting how each person can react so differently.

Thanks for letting me know guys. Like I said, I've been placed on SFS on and off since I was a kid (when I suffered from chronic c)and I've ALWAYS had trouble with them. I'd be willing to try Heather's Acacia but unfortunately $10 US translates to about $30 Aus plus there's p & h and with 3 kids and santa due to come soon I really can't afford it. Maybe I'll put some money aside and order it early next year. I'm pretty sure it's the SFS cause I ate perfectly safe all day yesterday (I even managed to eat tuna, lemon and dill pasta while sitting next to 2 people pigging out on beef stroganoff, one of my faves) and am still a bit iffy today. The only other thing it could be is the soy which I suspect I may have had problems with in the past. Oh well, I'll just stick to the diet for a while (maybe try cutting out the soy if I feel rotten still) and hopefully I'll start feeling better. Thanks again for all your replies.
