I got the results of the biopsies done with my gastroscopy, and apparently I have coeliac disease. That explains why I've been so sick! I'm over the moon to hear it, because apparently once i start the gluten free diet I should start to feel heaps better. Mind you, I am mourning the loss of Tim Tams and mud cake, but at this point I'll do anything to feel normal again!
So does anyone else here have coeliac? I'd like to hear about your experiences with it. I started the gluten free diet today, so fingers crossed this is the answer I've been praying for!!

glad you have a diagnosis, good luck getting used to your new diet, doesn't this mean you CAN have chocolate just not bars that have biscuits etc in them? There are quite a few coeliac recipes on the boards too. Good luck and hope you are feeling better soon,

Just seconding what Amber said... I don't think I actually welcomed you yet either, so welcome! And although I don't have a problem with gluten, isn't it a relief to know what's really wrong, so you can address the problem correctly? Good luck, and I hope you're feeling a LOT better very soon!

Hey guys, a question for the coeliacs out there...
Now that I've started the gluten free diet, how long till I can expect to start feeling better? I cant wait to stop feeling so nauseous!!!

Hi Sarah
I dont have coeliac but my cousin does so I know a bit about it. She belongs to the Coeliac Society here in Sydney (Im pretty sure theyre national). She finds them very helpful. She goes to support meetings, and they put out a booklet about what you can and cant eat, as well as restaurants/cafes that cater for Coeliacs.
I am in mourning for you for the loss of your Tim Tams (not sure if they have Tim Tams in America). Maybe you can find a close alternative!!!
