What kind of soup? Did you add milk or did it have milk in it? Just one possibility.

You could have had a variety with dairy in it, that would be a no-no. You could have picked one with a lot of fat, also a no-no. If you got regular ol' Campbells, there's definitely monosodium glutamate (MSG) in it, and that's a trigger for some people.

Welcome to the boards, by the way!

once was clam chowder (before I knew dairy was a problem) second was plain old chicken noodle...I was wondering if it might be the 890mg of sodium per serving????

A lot of soups have whey in them which is dairy. Check and see if that's the problem.

The chicken noodle I think is high in fat. I eat healthy choice soups regularly with FF saltines and they have been fine. Just find a soup brand that is low in fat and has no MSG and you will probably be ok. Best wishes!

"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
