Well, I can't... there's other triggers in the soda besides the caffeine... all the sweeteners used in most sodas are triggers (high fructose corn syrup or artificial sweeteners), and even the carbonation can be a problem. I'm sure some people will reply that they still drink it, but it really is best to avoid it.

If I drink a little, no problem but at times I go over my limit then It does. It is the fructose in it that bothers me not the caffeine.

The best thing is to just go cold turkey and never touch the stuff...but we are all human and sometimes you do get massive cravings for things and give in every once and awhile....but my advice if you're gona do it wait until you're completely stable and try and make sure u dont have anything important the next day incase you feel a bit ill cos of it...ull find out after trial and error how much it does effect you....I havent had any soda since august...but when I did dabble...it was 7up and sprite...the original (not diet) varieties are caffeine and sweetener free (well the one I had was) and so the only problem was the fizziness....I found that if I let it settle a bit so its not too fizzy it doesnt bother me at all...

The one thing I cave on is Bundaberg ginger beer (I don't know if you have that where you are). It doesn't have artificial sweetener or caffeine, and if I drink it from a glass and let it de-fizz a little before I start it's usually okay. I like it after a meal, I don't think it'd do me much good on an empty stomach.
