For the last month or so my IBS has been completely absent, despite not taking any soluble fiber supplements and having occasional dietary lapses like eating chocolate and ice cream and plenty of stress. It's baaaaack tonight, though. I am just curious to know if other people go through remission periods.

My doctor told me that IBS will ebb and flow for the rest of my life.

I have not gone off this diet in the past year and while I do well for the most part I still have trouble from time to time. Sometimes I can look back at the food journal that I keep and kind of figure I had too much tomato or something but most of the time I can't figure the trigger.
