Hello, everyone, old friends and new!

I just wanted to let you know that I have now made it 10 whole months without an attack of IBS-D!! All hail Heather, the IBS goddess!!

For you newbies, I did it by following Heather's diet, including an SFS, and taking my prescription antispasmodic every day per my doctor's orders!

For all my old friends, if you're still struggling, first ask yourself the following questions:

1. Am I still drinking alcohol?
2. Am I still drinking coffee?
3. Am I still smoking cigarettes? (Yep, that's a trigger, too.)

If you can honestly answer yes to those, that's terrific! If not, you need to go look in the mirror and decide if the tradeoff is worth it. I'm serious. I would NOT be stable if I were still drinking and/or smoking, no matter how careful I was with diet and SFS. And just think of all the other health benefits!

Okay, the holidays are coming up, which will be a challenge, but with luck, I'll make it to Jan 9, 2005, which will mark ONE YEAR no IBS!

Hugs to everyone!
LauraSue

Dear LauraSue
Its so wonderful to hear of your progress with your IBS. It makes me sooo happy! I really hope this continues for the rest of your life. And I hope, ontop of that, that your migraines are fading away too.
A question - when you say you are stable - does that mean you have zero symptoms of ibs - you go to the toilet like a normal person and have none of that 'incomplete evacuation' feeling, or any tummy turning, bit of nausea, whatever? are 100% symptom free, or is it just that you are not getting traumatic attacks and can eat safely, enjoying it, like a normal person, as long as you don't step out of the bracket?
Thank you XXX Lots of love

congrats! you are my inspiration and I thought I was on my way there... until this latest attack- I dont' drink or have coffee- only rarely did either before.. never smoked.. but its the meds I needed for my arthritis that did me in until they switched me to celebrex yesterday.. hopefully that won't have belly side effects and when the others work their way out of my system I'll be ok again.

I know you will continue to stay on track and make it the full year!

I wish I could balance myself out, tired of it all.

Hope your migraines are getting better along with the Fibro!!

Where can I go to read about the symptoms of Fibro? I think I might have a mild case of it. Your help would surely be appreciated! Thanks Honey!!

You'll make it a full year with your determination! I must say I cheat way too often because normally I can get away with it as long as I'm taking my equalactin and occasional immodium. Lately though I wonder if I'm normalizing b/c I don't have to go as much. There are days when I don't go at all. That's NEVER happened before.

Cheers to your success (but not with coffee or alcohol!:)

Sandy
