Recently my gas has gotten worse. My gas cramps and pains are worse too. I double over in pain and I can hardly move. I don't know what to take. I eat the right foods. I can't take Gas-x med since it has calcium so it makes me C. The softgels contain sorbitol so I can't take them. I can't take charcoal tablets since they casue C. My gas is worse when I'm severely C which is often. I drink lots of strong oregano, ginger, fennel, peppermint tea. It's not enough. I eat 24 Altoids a day. It's not enough though. There is so much gas built up in my stomach that won't get under control. Please help. Thanks God Bless

Angel I am assuming from reading your posts you take fiber supplements everyday. Drinking lots of water should help with the bloating and drinking fennel tea. I had a bad attack last weekend and I'm taking Heather's advice by using a heating pad for pain and trying Yoga for the first time. What do Altoids do for you? Are you sure that isn't causing some of your C and bloating? I know when I suck on candy I can get very bloated. For me additives in foods are a big problem and can cause IBS flare ups. Hope this helps. I love to read a post very soon from you about how you got your IBS under control. Barbara

Fennel seeds crushed and brewed in hot water are excellent for bloating. Worth a try.

I drinks lots of strong fennel tea and drink lots of water. I take Citrucel daily. I eat Altoids because they prevent attacks and helps cramps, gas, etc. Heather mentions it in her book or books. I don't suck on them. I chew them. It all helps but not enough.

Have you tried Phazyme, you get get it at any Wal-Mart or drug store. I have IBS-C too and suffer with bloating the GI told me to take a Phazyme before I eat to help cut down on the bloating, it has been helping tremendously been on it for 3 weeks now. I'm sorry you feel bad I had the same thing sunday and thought I would die

With a mortar and pestle or a sharp knife and a cutting board. It's more potent that way. You can brew it without crushing, it's just milder.

Angel,
There are several yoga postures that might help ease your gas pains. If you are interested in knowing more, let me know.
Be well.

Hi Angel, I have IBS-C too, and suffer from bloating and (flatulence). I drink fennel tea which helps. You can crush them with a coffee grinder too. I have been taking Ginger pills. The brand I'm using is Nature's Way Ginger root. I take two pills with a meal and it really helps with my bloating and gas. I'm sorry you've been suffering so much. I hope your feeling better. Good Luck! Cloudygirl

Hi I got the med today and I'm taking extra strength. How can you be on it for 3 weeks since it says to take it for only 2 weeks. Is that safe? How long should I take it for? Thanks.

I think it is different with IBS, the GI told me take it before I eat to help stop the gas from beginning to start with. I think those limitations may be out the door with us IBS folks, she is one of the top GI's in the state and leading IBS doc, so I am following her advice, you might want to double check with your GI doc though just to be comfortable.

Oh I see. Well I don't have a GI doc so I guess I'll just have to take them for two weeks after meals like it says. I don't have a choice.
