Sucrose vs. Sucralose?

Hi. I was in the supermarket this evening trying to find something for my daughter to drink at school besides water - cranberry juice is a bit too tart for her...and I came across these new flavored "waters" that are on the market. They are not carbonated or anything but are merely flavored waters with sucralose in them. Now from what I understand SUCROSE is ok for ibs (which is the complete opposite of what her doctor told me to watch out for) but what is sucralose????

Sucralose - brand name Splenda - is an artificial sweetener, and not safe for IBS'ers.
