My 6 yr old daughter's gastro doctor recommended Juice + Fiber to be taken daily. It is in juice box form (8 oz) and it is 10 grams of soluble fiber. She was just diagnosed with ibs (diarrhea). When I gave it to her it definately made her 10 times worse! We were up all night with cramps and diarrhea. I then decided to just give her 1 1/2 oz in the am and another ounce in the afternoon, she was still very gassy and had d but it could have just been the tail end of a bad cycle - I have since taken her off of it but am wondering if I should try again. I am just scared to because of the pain she has been in lately.

Does anyone have any testimonials for this product? All of the testimonials on their website pertain to people with constipation!

I have never heard of this product. However, starting with 10 g of soluble fiber is way too much. When taking an SFS you build up slowly so that your body has time to adjust to the change. Otherwise it can make your symptoms worse.

I've never heard of it either, and I second what Carrieokie says. I can also tell you that for a lot of people with IBS, fruit juices are a huge no-way-Jose.

My best recommendation is to read through the IBS diet guidelines - there's a lot there, but it's definitely worth reading all the way through. It'll explain soluble fiber, foods to eat, foods to avoid, and so much more. You can also hop over to the supplements section to learn how to safely incorporate a fiber supplement into her diet. Don't be surprised if some of this contradicts what her doctor said - the vast majority of doctors know little, if anything, about proper diet for IBS sufferers.

Good luck, and feel free to ask any more questions that might come up!

I just saw a post from you on the recipe board, and I'm gathering that you've read all the diet info already. Sorry about that! But still, if you have any more questions... we love to help!
