I had a bunch of blood work done last week to check 1) my hormone levels
2) my thyroid
3) to see why my hair is falling out
I called the doctor office yesterday and the nurse said that there was a bunch of post it notes about me but I would have to wait for the doctor to call me back. She said the doctor would call me last night. She never called. So I called again today and the nurse said she would check and call me back. She called back and said someone would call with instruction later tonight because my doctor wanted to talk to another doctor today before talking to me!! I asked instruction for what!! She said she didn't know!! UUUGGGG!!! I am starting to get a little worried and scared!! What the hell would she need to talk to another daoctor about? I am freaking out!!! I even dreamed abou tdoctor and tests last night. I hope they call me tonight or I am just going to go there tommrow while Kenna is in school! I can't take this. The nurses have me freaked!!!

I don't blame you for freaking out! Ugh, it drives me INSANE that doctor's offices make you WAIT after telling you something that makes you nervous like that. There's usually no reason for it, either. Grrr.
Take a deeeeep breath. Believe it or not, it could be nothing. I had the same bloodwork, and they scared the crap out of me with the first round, because they called and said I had "abnormalities". Of course I asked what that meant, and they said they didn't know. I had to go back and have the bloodwork done over again. The second round had the SAME abnormalities, but my doctor consulted with another doctor (which, by the way, is kind of a routine practice in group-practice settings) and decided it was "normal" for me and something to be monitored over the years, but nothing to worry about now.
See? So it could be nothing!!
I'm assuming you know what time the office closes. If they haven't called back by 1/2 hour before, I would call them. And if they say someone will call you back, say no, you're on the phone right now, and refuse to hang up until you talk to someone who can give you information. That's nuts that they didn't call, and there's no excuse for it!
*hugs!*

I know it probbaly nothing but I hate when they hint at things but won't tell you everything!!!! The problem with calling before the office closes is they turn the phones off at 5:00pm but the still see people till 7:30pm so it is to late to call now but I still may get a call around 8:00pm. EERRRRRGGGGG Thanks for understanding!!!

That makes me sooo mad, too!! I had an "abnormal" pap smear before, same thing, go back to the dr., more tests and then they don't call me!!! I had to call to find out everything was ok two days later! I agree that you should call today and stay on the phone until you get somebody. I hope everything comes out good, let us know as soon as you know. {{{{hugs}}}}} Angie

No problem at all. *hugs* Doctors frustrate the hell out of me. Even more so since I used to work in a hospital, and 9 times out of 10, lab results are available within a day or two - there's no reason for all the waiting! Sorry, pet peeve!! LOL
Definitely call them in the morning if you don't hear from them tonight. And hang in there! *hugs*

They ought to be flogged for tormenting you this way.
Having said that, you need to find a way to calm yourself because you are just hurting yourself. Do something really self nurturing or watch a funny show.
And by all means, if they don't call tonight, camp out on their doorstep tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!

There's nothing worse then being disappointed by your doctor. When I went to the gastroenterologist, it was like I was talking to some yahoo off the street. What is the point? I feel your frustration and FEAR. You hang in there and try to calm yourself down. Good Luck!

Heather,
I can't believe they are making you worry like this! It's probably nothing, but they shouldn't tell you things like this and then keep you hanging. When I had my colonscopy, the doctor said he'd call me afterwards with the results. I waited and waited and no one called, so I called the answering service (after office hours) and demanded that he call me. He did and everything was fine, but I never could've waited all weekend (this was on a Friday afternoon.)
Is that an option for you? Call and have the doctor paged after office hours? If he gets mad, too bad!!! If this doesn't work, I'd go by there tomorrow and camp out in the waiting room. Tell the receptionist you have to talk to the nurse or doctor right away---and don't leave until they get one of them for you to talk to.
This is ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!! They forget who's paying their salaries! Make em' work for every penny---that's my motto.
Let us know what they say. It's probably nothing, and some stupid nurse is making a big deal out of it. If it is nothing, I'd complain like hell to the doctor about her worrying you like this.
Want me to go down there with you? I'm mad---and I don't mind making a scene!
