Check this recipe and tell me where I'm going wrong

I just started the diet and need to know if there is something way off here or if I'm ok to eat this sauce.
Teriyaki Sauce
1 cup soy sauce
3/4-1 cup sugar or brown sugar
whole ginger root sliced (Add to taste)
1 clove of crushed garlic
1 teaspoon of honey
Simmer all of this together and thicken with corn starch
Am I ok?

Make sure the soy sauce doesn't have MSG in it. That is a trigger for some IBSers.

I can't do the soy sauce because of how my body reacts to it, and the garlic either, cos garlic jumpstarts my IBS-D.

I can't take too much soy sauce. I usually use less soy sauce and then add some sherry. I use real sherry, not cooking sherry. Makes a great flavor! Good luck.
