I am IBS-C and have lots of gas. If I eat 1 yogurt (Westsoy) per day am I getting enough probiotics. What do you recommend? Any other suggestions for gas are appreciated! Lauriea

I am IBS-C also, often with gas....do you eat any dairy at all in your diet. Dairy Products, including butter, most margerines, whey & casein (often a "hidden" dairy filler) can cause gas in people who are lactose intolerant. So can naturally gassy foods like broccoli, cabbage, beans, etc. For myself, I chew on a Gas-X tablet if I am in the presence of other people! If I'm home, I dont care! Not much you can do about it other than to avoid dairy and gassy foods...our systems are sooooooooo sensitive! and sometimes the gas is actually painful and you can feel it traveling through your intestines, too! Thank god for GasX. I could probobly be a spokesman for their product, along with Charmin!

I would keep away from the dairy...plus the dosage in probiotic pills is much higher then in a yogurt....and in a much kinder ibs form...

You could also try soy yogurt - I find Silk's version to be yummier than any dairy yogurt I've ever had!

I'm scared to death of yogurt, soy or otherwise. I take Acidophilus Plus 2 x per day. One in the morning and one before bed at night.
For gas I use Mylanta Gas. It works for me most of the time. Sometimes no matter what we take, the gas just keeps on coming.
hope some of this helps.
