Well guys, my mom saw her gastro again today, and he officially diagnosed her with IBS. Well, along with her the diagnosis, he gave her a list of foods that she should now be eating whole lot of. Well, she showed me the list, and it was a list of high fiber foods... but not just ANY high fiber foods (no....) They were all sky high in insoluble fiber!! Well, she bought three loafs of whole wheat bread today and is gonna start eating more bran and prunes. I told her thediff. between insoluble and soluble fiber, but she wouldnt have it, because im not a doc. And my dad was all like well, according to your theory, the doc is full of crap and went to med school for nothing. So, yeah, I shut up after that. I told my mom that I would never eat that though, and luckily, she accepted my respons and bought me a loaf of sourdough bread

More proof that most doctors shouldn't be doctors. It's so sad.

Wow Angela your mom can not deny she has IBS anymore! Hang in there when it comes to your parents. Doctors think they know best, well parents can too. Speaking about myself - I know I'm not always right and I allow my kids to tell me when they feel I'm wrong. Believe it or not I do let them give me time outs if I raise my voice too high.
As hard as your situation is on you at least you know when you get married and have children you can chose to not repeat their mistakes. You will probably be the parent who takes their child to the Doctor for every little pain and cough!! LOL
Hang in there.
