I am taking the RELIV NOW, Innergize and Fiberstore.
The NOW and Innergize have given me a great amount of energy and I love that. I simply mix them in water.
I started off taking the Fiberstore 1/4 scoop twice daily. I knew my body had to adjust to the new fiber, so when the bloating and gas returned I tried to just deal with it and let time pass. I was on 1/2 scoop for one week and moved up to 1 full scoop twice daily while eating my oatmeal daily and continuing on my Citrucel 3 x per day, not including the fiber in my food.
I am trying to give it time for my body to adjust. I am back to C however, and have to strain sometimes to have a bm. also I am bloated and gassy again although not as severe as before I started taking the product.
I was stable on my Citrucel 3 x per day, but just did not have any energy. Like you, I know get up feeling relaxed and am sleeping much better at night except for the "wake ups" to use the bathroom. Voiding, no D or C.
I am wondering if I moved too quickly with this fiber as well. The other products are great, but the fiber has me back to C. I have only been taking the fiber for about two weeks and just starting taking 2 full scoops per day this past Saturday.
Since you have experienced this problem with fiber, do you think I should drop the fiber and continue on my Citrucel which had me stable with 1-2 bms per day and no bloating or gas?
There is also the problem of soy. I am wondering if my body is still adjusting to it.
The NOW and the Innergize are great products and I highly recommend them. I stopped taking all vitamins except extra C, B12 and B Complex with C. I'm just having a small problem with the fiber and I think it might be the dosage.
Our bodies need 15-35 grams of fiber per day (I think). The IBS diet does not give me enough fiber, which is why we all take more.
What dosage did you start on and how fast did you progress? also, what do you plan to do about the Fiberstore when you return back to it?
I await your opinion, and only your opinion. After all, you have been there with this fiber, had some problems with it and I think you are the one that can answer with experience. No offense to you other guys.

I started on about 1/4 scoop once a day; after observing no ill-effects after 3-4 days, increased to 1/4 scoop twice a day, after about another week increased again to about 1/2 scoop twice a day.
I haven't observed any problems with the soy (already being pretty used to it; I do quite a bit of soy milk and tofu), but as I said in the previous post, I suspect I may have ramped up a bit too quickly, and that may also have been exacerbated by eating popcorn. Anyway, am recovering now from a bad bit of C brought on (I think) by those factors.
I really don't see the advantage of this particular fiber product over any others; I think if this one works for you, use this one, and if another had been working for you, stick with that. Fibrestore seems to have a whole variety of fiber sources in it, which may make it work better for some, and may also mean more possibilities for adverse reactions in others.
I guess what I mean is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. If it was me, I'd go back to what had been working. I don't think it matters as much what source you get it from, as long as you're getting the fiber your body needs.
Me, I'm back to square one with Fibrestore, 1/4 scoop once daily, and plan to ramp up much sllllloooooowwwwweeeeerrrrrr this time, and am also working on taking in more H2O, a biggie for those of us who struggle with big C.
Boy! Frustrating sometimes ain't it?
But I gotta throw in (yet again) my wholehearted recommendation of the Classic/ Now product (I think they're both the same except one is flavored). It sure makes a big positive difference for me.

Thanks for your response. I think I will continue my Citrucel 3 x per day as I was doing and incorporate Fiberstore slooooooooooooowly as well.

I think it is a really good product and perhaps I moved the dosage up too quickly.

I agree, the NOW and INNERGIZE are great and I plan to continue taking them. They supply me with the energy that I need.

Thanks again!

Did you guys both start out with 1/4 scoop each of the Classic and the Innergize. I have both of these in my kitchen but havent started them yet so I was wondering how much I should start out with.

I haven't been using Innergize; don't seem to need it. I began with a scoop of Classic once daily, and after about 10 days went up to a scoop twice daily. Didn't have any problem ramping up this product quite quickly, and saw results in energy level and sleep quality almost immediately.

I started out with 1/2 scoop of the NOW, 1/2 scoop of INNERGIZE and 1/4 scoop of FIBERSTORE. I got extremely constipated.

Presently I am taking 1 full Scoop of the NOW, 1 full scoop of the INNERGIZE and 1 full scoop of the FIBERSTORE once a day only.

I think my body was trying to incorporate too much fiber and that is why I am C. I will stay on the one dosage a day for 7 days and see how that works, then I will proceed slooooooooooowly with the FIBERSTORE.

I have Miralax standing by just in case, but I am trying to exercise and cut back some of the fiber to see if I can go naturally.

Its pretty much like when I started taking the Citrucel. It took a while for my body to adjust. Twenty grams of soluble and insolube fiber plus 3 grams from Citrucel plus my high fiber diet is JUST TOO MUCH FIBER FOR MY BODY! IT IS ADJUSTING RIGHT NOW AND I PLAN ON GIVING IT TIME TO DO THAT.

If you have an SFS that works for you, I would suggest just taking the NOW/CLASSIC and INNERGIZE and leave the FIBERSTORE alone.

I have lots of energy and sleep well at night, except for the trips to void. I highly recommend the NOW/CLASSIC and INNERGIZe to anyone who is run down, it will give you energy. Be ware of FIBERSTORE though or if you do decide to take it start with 1/4 scoop and progress very slowly to the full dosage.

BTW, I take all three with the scoop that comes in the NOW.

Good luck.

Lene

Not either of those girls, but I'd start off on a quarter if I were you. Do that 3-4 days then work up to a half. Let me know how you do, either here or at karenreliv@hotmail.com which is what Janene, Lene, Peggy and others are doing. I'm glad to help.
