Ok as most of you know I have been pretty sick. I am taking antibiotics. I know that they are the reason I am having such majior cramping after I take them, But I have noticed that my normal IBS pain (upper left and right sides) has not been a problem the past two days. Could this be from the antiobiotics or maybe because I am having pure water D three times every morning. Or do you think it could be from the atispasmatics I am taking for the antibiotic cramps. I am very confused. I am hoping the right side left side pain doen't come back, because that is my number one issue. It isn't realy a cramp but more of a constant feeling like I am being streched(it is realy hard to explain). I do get some pretty bad stabing pains in those areas to. I am just so frutrated trying to figure out how to make that side pain stop. If that would go away I would be fine, I mean after I am done with the antibiotics.
Just wondering what your thoughts are!!

It's hard to say, really... but if I had to take a guess, I'd say it's probably the antispasmodics that are helping. I know that D always increased my pain and cramping, and antibiotics *definitely* never helped things in that regard either.

I would keep up with the antispasmodics after you're done with the antibiotics, and see if that helps.

Good luck, hon! I hope it helps... lord knows you could use a BREAK from the pain!!

My best guess would be that it is the atispasmatics that is helping.

Antibiotics always make my tummy go out while I'm taking them, severely. But after a cycle of antibiotics, I feel significantly IBS free-er. I've heard prople say the same things about them.

The prob with antibiotics for me is in addition to the constant D while I'm taking them, they give me a yeast infection afterwards. And sun poisoning on my face and arms if I'm out driving in my car too long. Seems like we should have better drugs out there by now!

Hang in there. It'll help counting the pills or putting them into those "M T W TH F" containers, cos it's reassuring knowing that it's not forever!!

I am realy hoping it is these new antispasmatics. The bentyl did nothing for the side pain. I hope it doesn't come back after the antibiotics are done. Send up some prayers please. I have only had 7 day since July without side pain.
Thanks

Thanks hon your the greatest. I also get ragging yeast infectuions from them. Whenever I have to take them my doctor gives me a script for Diflucan to. So I take one of those the first and last day of the antibiotics and avoid the yeast all together. Next time you have to take them ask for some Diflucan to. I love them because it is a pill and you don't have to mess with nasty creams
Good Luck

I took my last antibiotic SAT. Had water D and stomach cramps on Sun, no side pain though. Took an Anitispamatic last night and again this morning. Woke up this mornig with loose stool and majior side pain again. It lessened after BM but is still there. I am so mad and dissapointed.

I was hoping it was the antispasmatic that was helping. The only thing I can think of is because my bm's were pure water they didn't agravate the bends in my colon (which is where the pain is). Now that the are more soild they are hurting me agian. Does that make sense? I could just cry. I am tried of deaing with this pain everyday. I am going to start my SFS today. I hope it helps the pain. I realy do.
