If you have a D attack will taking psyllium help calm things down? Or does it work only as a preventative?

Yes, it will help. The sooner you can give your tummy something to contract around the sooner things will get back to normal. DON'T exceed your normal dose though!
And remember things like the BRAT diet (Bananas, Rice, Applesauce and Toast) to help calm things down. And of course Imodium or Pepto Bismol or Kaopectate.
Feel better, hon!

thanks ... I am terrified to try antidiarrheal . I had a bad experience with Immodium three years ago, granted, I was also in the throes of a massive sinus infection at the time.

My advice with Immodium is: if you're nervous, start small. I never take more than 1 capsule a day.
And LS's right, if you even THINK you're heading for an attack, get that soluble fibre down you asap!

are you saying after a D attack, I should get some Soluble fiber in me? Usaually I can't even think of eating. I ususally take cirtucel before I eat- if I experience an attack after eating your thought is I should take the SFS right after the attack? Just curious.
