it is an excellent cookbook but only good for those who want to cook / can cook / have the facilities too.
Before buying it I would go on a really simple diet to find your triggers, because the cookbook is full of recipes from proper dishes...I have had it for a few months and still have not tested enough foods in order to cook from it!!!
Do you enjoy cooking? Does your mum?
The most important thing to try right now is to eliminate all the major triggers if you can: you can find them on this website, and it includes junk food. Sorry. See how you feel....

It's a great recipe book, but some of Heather's recipes are a bit exotic for everyday eating! I'd check out the Recipe Index for some simple recipes first. Do you cook for yourself?

You might be best off starting with the "IBS: The First Year" book if you're not a cooking whiz. "The First Year" explains IBS (and has a nifty graph of colon contractions to show people who think you're a hypochondriac) and goes into details about trigger foods and fiber supplements and herbal teas and even has a handful of recipes.

Yep. The dietary information itself it worth it. Mind you, Heather generously provides almost all the dietry information that's in the book on this website, but still, the recipes are great! Some are more fancy than others, but I found it worth every penny.
