One hit at the end of our road! Took off some shingles and ripped out some trees. We live at the end of a mile long dead end road. Luckily at the end!

My stomach's twisting just reading that - tornados are one of my irrational fears - so I can just imagine how you feel right now!! I'm glad it just missed you, and that you're safe, but that's way too close for comfort, I bet!

Where is Hartsville? I'm in Charlotte. Heard a tornado hit near Lake Wylie Elementary. Are you near that?

Same with me, I always wake up from dreams about tornados. I was here with my mom and no car so we couldn't see what was going on at the other end. We just seen all the firetrucks and stuff coming down to turn around. Anyways, we're safe and tornados are one of my big time fears too.

I HATE tornadoes. They are unpredictable and sooo destructive. They are also huge, ugly massive things. If you have ever had the misfortune of seeing one up close like I have, they are awfully frightning. About 5 or so years ago, a HUGE category 5 (the biggest you can get) hit a small town close to Austin where i was living at the time and almost wiped out the entire town. I heard that the remaining survivors built storm shelters. Good thinking!

my parents used to live there. They had a beautiful house on Pinckney Avenue. (Don't ask me why I remember the name of the street!)

I've only lived in Charlotte 3 years (I'm from Louisiana) and I'm still trying to figure out where all these places are in the Carolinas.

I know a man who has a 1949 Ford we were thinking about buying. He lived near Charlotte Raceway or something like that. I'll have to let you know the next time I find something I really want up there and you do the same with me.

The raceway you are referring to must by Lowe's Motor Speedway. It is north of town. I live in South Charlotte. The speedway is where Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhart Jr, Richard Petty and all of those guys race! It's a huge raceway and really something to see---if you come this way! Fans come from all over the country and camp out for days to see and hear the action!
