Hi everyone. So I just had one of the worst visits to the doctor ever. Has anyone ever made you feel horrible about complaining about this? I have had a really rough summer, with attacks about every week. I'm staying at college for the summer and trying to have fun, but these attacks have really gotten in the way of everything. So, after being really good about taking my fiber, I went back to the doctor. I wanted some advice about how to get through the pain. He totalyl blew me off. He said I hadn't been on fiber long enough, so I should "take a tylenol & use a heating pad"...i really could have died. COME ON! If I took 50 tylenol, I know I'd still be crying on my couch. I'm so frustrated. I'm from Ohio...does anyone know of a good IBS friendly doctor around? Also, I get the worst attacks right at the beginning of my period. When I mentioned this, he quickly said to get the gynocologist b/c 'thats not his job'. Well, I know that...I just wondered how the pill would affect my horrid stomach. BLEH. I'm so dissapointed, and I hate feeling so sick. I think the stress of that visit also caused another attack. So I'm cripped over in pain. This really isn't fun...but I'm glad there are people out there that truly get it...

Sorry your dr was such a jerk! Unfortunately, I have had the same experience many times!! Finally, I found a regular MD who is very compassionate. I have already seen every kind of specialist and ruled everything else out. She gives me Zolft (an antidepressant) Xanax (an anti-anxiety) and Vicidon for the pain. The heating pad DOES help with the pain! Hope you feel better soon!

I try to follow as close a possible all told. I feel much better from IBS but I have developd a new problem: IBS would come with pain upon urination and a non-stp desire to void among other tins. Well now I don't get the spasms to have a BM but I do get bad spasms to void. Is this happening to others and what are they doing about it?
