Hi All,
So I've actually been doing pretty well recently with my D attacks getting fewer and less painful. This is a good thing and I've been quite encouraged with that. But last night I discovered something that I'm alittle concerned about. My kitty cat actually helped me discover this - sweet little thing that she is! She has this habit that me and my husband refer to as typing. When she's really happy and relaxed, she likes to get really close to people and sort of kneed with her front paws, except she gets really into the kneeding and step-step-steps with her little front paws on whatever is underneath them while the rest of her body is still, she looks like she has a little keyboard under her and thinks she's become a secretarty. Okay, now for the point of the explaination - last night kitty starts typing on my tummy while I was lying on my back. She only weighs about 7 or 8 pounds, so I can't immagine it was more than 4 - 5 pounds of pressure she was exerting - but every time she stepped down it felt like there was something five times that size poking into my gut! She was happy as could be and I didn't want to interrupt her, but had to push her off pretty quickly! Afterwards my tummy made the strangest noises in the world too! I havn't noticed this happening before, but this is the first time the cat typed on my tummy, applying this sort of direct pressure. I had finished eating dinner about two hours before this happened, so I don't think that was too much a factor. Anyone else think this sounds weird, or would you just gauge it as a normal symptom?
Sorry for the long explainations!!!
Thanks!
Min

It sounds like it was just the air in tummy getting moved around. Mine does it all the time when pressure is applied.
My mom's cat types all the time to. aren't they cute little creatures. I think we are going to one this weekend.
Good luck.

It actually sounds like it could be gas....

Sometimes when I get direct pressure on my stomach and I'm really gassy (even if I don't think I am) ...I get sharp pains. The gurgling might just have been the gas shifting around in there.

I wouldn't worry about it too much....

I have two cats as well and I can't let either of them on my tummy! What you refer to as typing we call fluffing in my house! I've actually got one of my kitties trained so she will sit on the back of the couch and fluff my nexk for me! Its like a little mini massage! I couldn't stand the pressure of that on my tummy though!

Yup, sounds like gas bubbles to me. They can stay in one spot and then shift around, make noises, etc. I wouldn't be too concerned.

I have a 20-pound cat who doesn't knead, but just likes to *be on me* when I lay down. 20 lbs is a lot of cat to have pressing down on gas-bubbly insides! Heh. I guess I should just be glad she gets things moving along.
