What does it mean to be stable?

I know many of you consider your IBS symptoms stable. What does that mean to you? Are you symptom free? Or still experiencing symptoms, but they are minor or don't interfere with your life? Or something else?

It means that you can get on with your life without worrying about symptoms too much. It does not mean you are symptom free or cured.
