If you're stable those grains are usually just fine to use as your soluble fiber foundation (they are high in soluble, they just also have some insoluble). Polenta, cornmeal, and oatmeal are other whole grains that most IBS folks do well with.

There are exceptions (aren't there always?). Check your individual tolerance for these grains, and if you're in the midst of problems and trying to stabilize that's not the time to try them. Stick to the super safe things like white rice and peeled cooked root veggies until your gut calms down, then give the safer whole grains a try.
