I would LOVE to make this.... I don't have a teapot so I would like to know what others use before I go out and buy one.

Thanks!

You could even just use a heat-proof pitcher or a glass bowl, it won't matter.

If you have fresh mint on hand, do try this recipe - it's very different than using dried mint in tea bags. Really, really delicious on a summer day!

For regular, every day tea drinking, see if you can get loose peppermint in bulk. Health food stores, Fred Meyer, Larry's Market, all carry bulk herbs and spices, and it's dirt cheap to buy a big bag of loose peppermint vs. the teabags. You can keep a mason jar of it or some such at work and at home, and just brew in a tea strainer as you would brew loose tea. That way you can make it stronger, too. This also works well for fennel or anise seeds, or chamomile flowers.

Best,
H

I tried Making Heather's Soothing Sweet Peppermint Green Tea but I'm not sure if it turn out right.

Heather you always say that you steep yours until it is black. Were you talking about this one (fresh mint) or bulk peppermint?

Because I did not have anything to store the balance of the recipe in... my hubby and I just cut in 1/3. I could not find the green tea powder at PCC health food store, so I just put in the green tea teabag for the last minute of steeping. In the end it was a light green color..... but still very yummy!!

I think I'll try the bulk peppermint.....next... I'll go shopping for a tea strainer......

Whoops, yes, it's the dried peppermint tea I brew till it's very dark. The fresh peppermint leaves won't do that - and actually, if you steep them for more than several minutes they can get a little bitter and that's not good. Using a green tea bag is just fine for the green tea powder.

Glad you liked it!
