I'm laughing my guts out. Not at your positively decadent cookies & outstanding winning attitude, but at my mother's excuse for cookies (no wonder she busts her diet and binges!).
She eats "Bowel Buddies," instead of something yummier & homemade. Then she binges on chocolate & pizza & ice cream. Later, desperately attempting to redeem herself with raw cauliflower flowerets noshed in her car. Dangerous & volatitle & years later only fatter! Actually her birthday is next week and I totally intend on baking her a "legal" cake, i.e. the CHOCOLATE one you posted a recipe for earlier. Thanks for doing me a favour, incidentally.
I guess, the quality of decadence in my diet would be to add a few drops (i.e. a tsp. or 2) of yummy oil or salad dressing. I have more savory tastes versus sweet. I guess lately I've been treating myself to a funky dressing or sauce each week that looks relatively safe. I get a charge out of fresh herbs. Expensive vinegars & mustards turn me on. Exotic mushrooms are my "candy." Hmmm...if we could somehow figure out to make a tequila sauce or a Vodka vinaigrette I'd be the most happy camper in the world. Yes, I'm pretty hard-core about veggies. Maybe I'll get some authentic maple syrup & make a maple dijon dressing this week. Or a Champagne vinaigrette. Ooooh!!! Truffle Oil!!!
If I were really treating myself in a foodie way, I'd buy some mache for lunch. Hey, now there's a great idea!
Okay, I'm weird in the food department. I guess you'd watch "Sugar" on Food T.V. if you couldn't sleep & I'd cross my fingers for "The Surreal Gourmet."
