OK, don't laugh. I tried this tonight and it's actually really good and just ridiculously good for you. I got the recipe from one for a juice, but I don't have a juicer. So I improvised...
(makes 1 serving, easily doubled or tripled)
about 1/4 cup cooked carrots about 1/2 cup applesauce 1 tsp fresh/minced ginger enough water to make it a desirable consistency
Mix carrots, applesauce and ginger in blender until smooth. Slowly add water until desired consistency is reached.
If you have a juicer, try this as a juice and let me know how it is! (You'd need a larger quantity of vegetables and fruits, and I'd use whole raw apples instead of the applesauce, and raw carrots) ...but I kind of like it this way because you get the SF.
I added enough water so that it was less like a smoothie and more like the consistency of say, V8. But the ginger gives it a strong enough 'punch' so that it doesn't taste watered down. I also added some echinacea tincture and my liquid calcium/magnesium supplement too, so it was mega healthy! lol
