I'm a *teeny* bit obsessive and like to have everything written down with precise measurements...and because I know at least a few IBSers out there are like me , I wrote down exactly how I make herbal iced tea. P.S. As per the suggestion of someone on the board, I tried hibiscus tea, and it's the best one of all.
Iced Herbal Tea
1 quart-sized canning jar with lid 2 herbal tea bags or 4 tablespoons loose tea Sugar or stevia to taste (optional) 4 cups boiling water Ice, for serving
Place the tea bags or loose tea and the sugar or stevia, if using, in the canning jar. Fill the jar with boiling water. Stir the sugar, if using, until it dissolves, and put the lid on the jar. Let the jar sit until it is cool enough to handle, then place it in the refrigerator to chill. When ready to serve, place ice cubes in a tall glass and fill the rest of the way with tea. If using loose tea, pour through a strainer into the glass. Makes 4 servings. -–Amelia Kridler
