My best recommendation is to read through ALL of the information on the site - not the boards, but the site itself - and get copies of Heather's books if you need more detail on things (but really, the basics are all right here on the site, generously provided for free). What you'll find is a complete lifestyle to manage your IBS symptoms - diet changes to make, supplements to try, and even yoga and hypnosis to manage the stress and anxiety (both in everyday life and resulting from the IBS itself).
It sounds like a lot of reading and "changing", and honestly, it is, but after doing this for a year and really getting my life back, I can say that it's totally worth it.
