I am a 40 year old woman who has had the "gut" for years, like maybe 20 years now. It moves around, makes noise, and is painful. Lately, it is so bad -- I've missed so many days from work because it always hits me in the morning. I've tried waking up earlier to get the bowel movements (several) started, and I am still doubled over in pain every morning and it makes me naucious, so I can't keep down anything including pills that my Dr. gave me for spasms and diarreah which stopped working after a week and a half. Over the counter meds are not helping either. My life is ruined. It could be stress, I don't know. I think it is the foods that I eat. I've been eating a lot of rich Greek dishes since my boyfriend is Greek, and after eating those meals, I am always at my worse. I don't want to start the BRAT diet (bananas, rice, apples, and tea). I like my cheeses and meets. I've gone to the Dr. and he diagnosed me at first with IBS, then after the medical tests, he said it was an infection/dehydration. Well guess what, after you have diarreah for a few weeks on end, you will be dehydrated. I need a new Dr. I also need to schedule a colonoscopy. Anyway, I just want to thank you for this website and board. It is *so* comforting to know that I am not suffering alone. I even shed some tears reading about others in my shoes.
