Re: Imuran as next step
      07/11/06 07:32 PM

Thanks for the quick responses & support.
Yes, my doc says does extensive blood work follow-up with his Imuran patients to check & re-check dosage levels to keep the amount being taken to the bare optimum. He confessed that Imuran is the only protocal that really seems to work, and he is disatisfied with the Prednisone/Asacol/Entocort regime...
Meanwhile, being of a natural foods/integrated healthcare mindset, I can't quite shake the desire to have a "healthy" immune system, not a chemically supressed one. While taking the Western med approach, I'm also taking some herbs and supplements: Slippery Elm in various forms, L-Glutamine powder, Fish Oil, and a odd Sea Vegetable supplement from Bastyr clinic in Seattle... I have anemia as well from the poor digestion, so am taking some Iron supplements to get me back to better standing, overcome the fatigue & dizziness...
I will keep communicating what works & what doesn't, but your feedback and other readings are helping me to resolve towards proceeding with a trial with the Imuran. Thanks!
Steve C.
