I am not only gluten intolerant, but after a three-year bout with lyme disease and multiple antibiotic therapy, have ever since suffered with chronic/recurrent yeast infections and related symptoms. To make matters worse, I am also severely hypoglycemic and supposed to eat ONLY low-glycemic foods. I was diagnosed with IBS-D completely separate of all these other conditions. I find Heather's diet DOES help my IBS; (modified for gluten intolerance of course); however, when I'm on it, my yeast related symptoms flare - chronic, untreatable yeast infections, sinus congestion, etc. However, when I go on a candida/hypoglycemia diet (high protein, low carb, NO processed foods, low starch, low soluble fiber, etc.) then it really irritates my IBS, although my other symptoms improve. Has anyone had to deal with this and found a kind of "happy medium" between yeast and IBS diets to the point where all symptoms can be controlled?? Anyone also managing hypoglycemia successfully? I know that's a lot to throw out there, maybe I have too many problems complicating things to really gain any benefit from this diet?? I hope not! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
