Hi, I hope there are some of you out there with the same issue as me. Do you have any recipes?:-)
I've just had a lovely English bangers (sausages) and mash, which I made myself:
Buy organic sausages without yeast extract, flavour enhancers etc, and make the mash from scratch (I made it with onions, which I blanched in the pan before adding the mash).
Peel and cook the potatoes until very soft, then drain and mash. Add soya or rice milk, and blend until smooth (or not, if you like it lumpy). Add a handful of mint and a twist of pepper for flavour, and serve with sausages, side salad and ketchup.
Yum!
And, in case any of you can benefit from my story: I was tested for food intolerances 6 months ago and was told I should cut out yeast, eggs and dairy. I spoke to a nutritionist who said that most people with IBS react negatively to yeast, as IBS is often affected by an imbalance in the gut, where yeast takes over and essentially becomes a parasite, making the intestines unable to deal with and absorb certain foods effectively- resulting in other food intolerances. Yeast also emits toxins, which can make you get headaches, fatigue etc. And yeast feeds off yeast and sugar in the food you eat.
So, anyway, I've stopped eating yeast, and am taking a yeast-killer called "Threelac", and it has helped quite a bit. I am only on month three, but I am hoping it will keep getting better. So test yourself for food intolerances, it can make a big difference:-)
