click here for a professional thingy about Equalactin
and now for my version:
it is a soluble fiber treatment. it comes in chewable tablets, and they supposedly have a "citrus" taste. yeah, right. to me, they taste like flavorless Smarties. not objectionable, to me at least.
take two, chew 'em up, drink a glass of water, and you may be set!
anyway, they are cost-prohibitive for most of us if used as your sole soluble fiber supplement, but most of us still keep 'em on hand, for the following reasons:
a) i keep 'em on hand for treatment in emergencies. i take two chew 'em up, drink the water, then pop some hycosamine (Levsin) to head off an attack of D at the pass. (don't know that it works as well for the C.... not sure.
b) i also chew up a couple and have a glass of water when i haven't had time to eat every 2 or 3 hours, like i should. your colon is so much happier when you have soluble fiber all gelled up and keeping it full. if i can't eat something soluble fiber-y every few hours, i'll take the Equalactin to hold me over. Ditto if i'm not particularly hungry but know i need to have some SF.
3) i keep some in my purse so if i'm going to eat somewhere that may be sketchy (for example, i'm cheating! ), or if there's a place that may not have soluble fiber for me to eat, then i load up on some Equalactin. usually does the trick!
i buy mine on drugstore.com.
hope this helped?!
