Okay, someone's probably going to think I'm mad here (nothing new, huh? ), but is Lavender tea just dried Lavender flowers? Like you can use as pot pourri? I had a mixed tea I loved which had lavender in it and I was thinking of making my own mix. Not sure though whether I'd be killing myself to use the dried lavender flowers I've got!

Lavender Mint Tea

1 teaspoon fresh lavender flowers or 1/2 teaspoon dried lavender flowers
1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons fresh mint leaves or 2 teaspoons dried mint
1 cup boiling water

1. In a teapot, combine the lavender flowers and mint. Pour boiling water over the mixture; steep 5 minutes.
Yield: 1 cup

Variation: For more interesting blends, add rosemary, lemon balm or lemon verbena, and rose geranium.

Here is also a GREAT website that talks about the kind of lavender that is SAFE to eat. http://whatscookingamerica.net/Lavender.htm

NOTE: Do not eat flowers from florists, nurseries or garden centers. In many cases these flowers have been treated with pesticides not labeled for food crops.
