I counted 36 burger recipes on the IBS recipe index! That is more than one a week for summer. My favorite is still burgers with special sauce . No I personally don't eat turkey for the most part, but if I make burgers for DH I would go with this one.

Also I don't think 99% fat free beef is available.

99% fat free hamburger would taste like sawdust. No point.

It's the fat that makes it juicy.

If looking for a good substitute make your own with ground chicken and add all the ingredients you would with hamburger.
My kids never even noticed the diff.Just remember to watch it carefully while cooking.Due to the less fat content, they will dry out quickly.Cook slow.

Yum, burgers - and it's almost grilling season. My favorites are:
Kree's Greek Chicken Burgers

Kree's Peking Burgers

I make them both with ground turkey - I figure I eat enough chicken.

I love Asian foods and for the chicken burger with peanut sauce I always in the past just put a couple breasts into the food processor and pulsed to make ground chicken. You know what you got then.

I love veggie style burgers and eat them all summer! They are so awesome since you have a burger in 1 minute. I put all the stuff on them- garden tomatoes, rice cheese slices, mayo, pickles (homemade), lettuce and basil from the garden. I LOVE them that way!

Hi,
I made the burger with special sauce and I loved it. However, I wish ground turkey breast meat was as tender as regular ground turky meat. The burger had a great flavor, but was not melt in your mouth tender. Is there a secret someone knows that will give ground turkey breast that velvet quality once it is grilled or sauteed?

You can try adding a little olive oil to the mixture. You'll have to do the math and figure out how much you can add and still stay below 25%.

Also the Peking burgers I mention in an earlier response to this post are quite velvet-y. I don't know if it's the egg white or the hoisin sauce or what but you could give them a try and see if they're more what you want.

HTH.
