meals that don't heat up the house?

So perhaps I'm the only one with this problem but what are some good meal to make so as it doesn't heat up the house on an already hot day? we do have an a/c but it's small and I don't want to kill it or my energy bill haha..

Do you have a crock pot (slow cooker)? I like Kree's chicken stew, though that's not exactly "summer food." I think there's also a white chili recipe floating around here for crock pots.

There's always sandwiches, too. Not very creative, but somehow, my husband never gets sick of sandwiches.

I lived on pasta salads last summer. I would cook the pasta in the evening when the house was relatively cool then put the salad together the next day. Some I particularly like are:

Almond Chicken Salad - you can make this with canned chicken

Tomato and Pasta Salad - This is really good with cold sliced chicken or turkey

Crunchy Tuna Pasta Salad
