I've noticed lately that there are a whole new bunch of products being recommended here so I thought I would collate a list to update the Safe Brand Names list
So please everyone either post here or email me skNOSPAM@dna.ie (delete NOSPAM) with the foods that you eat and brands that you have checked out and that are IBS safe, and I will send it on to Heather to update the list.
Make sure that you tell me what country you are in as the safe brands list is broken down into different countries.
So start thinking about what you eat each day and share the knowledge so that IBS newbies can not feel so bewildered in the supermarket!
To spark your memory- the headings that are currently on the list are: "Dairy" products Cheese Butter/Margarine Yogurt & Sour Cream Sauces, Soups and Ready Meals Meat/Meat Subs/Fish/Tofu Drinks Teas Frozen Yogurt/Ice Cream/Sorbet Bars, Candy, Cookies and Chips Bread/Pasta/Noodles/Rice Preserves Breakfast Cereal Miscellaneous Restaurant dishes
If you find that you have posted recommendations before I will do some searches but if you can find your old post easier please post a link here. I also have a feeling that I may have a couple of emails lurking in my inbox that haven't been added to the list by me yet too, so I will check those too.
Looking forward to getting responses from every corner of the world!

I'm trying to think of updates for you, but I really can't think of any. I mostly eat grocery-store-brand/generic foods, and I also am tolerant of a lot of things that newbie IBS'ers might not be, like HFCS.
But I'll keep thinkin'!

Well, here's a start. I'm sure I'm leaving things out that I use but I think this is a pretty good list. These are all things that I have found in California and Oregon, USA. Of course, everyone is different and these are all foods that are safe for me. I think in general they are pretty safe for most people.
–Melissa (hohoyumyum)
"Dairy" products
Blue Diamond Almond Milk (Chocolate almond milk can be heated on the stove and makes an excellent hot chocolate)
8th Continent Soy Milk
Trader Joe's Soy Milk
Silk Soy Milk
Tofutti (Check out http://tofutti.com/) Tofutti has a ton of products (alternatives for almost everything dairy) and reps from Tofutti have told me that stores on the east coast (USA) carry many more selections than on the west coast. Many small health food stores will special order products if you ask them. Just take a UPC or know the exact brand and item name.
Cheese
Veggie slices and shreds
Soy-Sation cheese blocks (actually melts like cheese)
Yogurt & Sour Cream
Tofutti Supreme Sour Cream
Silk, Nancy's, and Trader Joe's soy yogurts
Sauces, Soups and Ready Meals
Del Monte spaghetti sauce (no HFCS)
Imagine Soups (tomato, mushroom, butternut squash)
Amy's no-cheese pizza (I put soy cheese on it)
Meat/Meat Subs/Fish/Tofu
The entire Yves line for meat alts (the pepperoni is so tasty)
Gardenburger soy burgers
Boca soy burgers, sausage, ground round
Seafood: Catfish, White Ruffy, Shrimp, Tilapia, Salmon (baked, steamed, broiled, grilled)
Drinks
Trader Joe's Mango Nectar
Country Time Lemonade mix
Tropicana no-pulp, low-acid orange juice.
Teas
Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice (no caffeine, has a very strong cinnamon flavor)
Frozen Yogurt/Ice Cream/Sorbet
Tofutti Cuties and Ice Cream
Soy Dream (Vanilla and Mango Vanilla especially)
Soy Delicious
Bars, Candy, Cookies and Chips
Trader Joe's Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookies
Tostitos
Trader Joe's dried fruit (banana chips and unsulfered sweetened mango slices)
Snyder's of Hanover Pretzels (sticks and snaps and garlic nibblers are great) (some of their flavors have lactose in them)
Breakfast Cereal
Kellogg's Corn Pops
Cheerios
Restaurant dishes
Subway Sandwiches
Miscellaneous
Trader Joe's Organic-free range-veggie fed-chicken Eggs (I can tolerate yolks)
Trader Joe's Bird Nests (in the frozen section)
Trader Joe's Stir-fried vegetable Egg Rolls (in the frozen section)
Green Giant tender asparagus spears (canned)
Any brand Canola oil cooking spray (as long as it is only canola oil in the can)
Bread/Pasta/Noodles/Rice
Trader Joe's Bagels (plain and onion-yum!)
Mission Tortillas (I usually use tortillas in place of bread, buns, rolls, etc for almost everything that would need one of those.
Golden Grain Mission pastas (that's what is in my cupboard right now but I've never had trouble with any pasta)
Rice a Roni (chicken, mushroom, chicken with broccoli, use a small amount of canola oil in place of butter)
<-- I just love this little grinning face. <-- And that's cute, too. LOL.

Just wanted to say I love this picture of you (assuming it is you, and not something out of this month's Elle). It is very cool - kind of mysterious and sexy. Just like IBS. LOL

your husband/boyfiend (sorry, I forget which) is not too hard on the eyes, either.... I really ought to get my picture on here too. It's nice to be able to put faces to names.

(I'm from CA, U.S.)
-I recently found a peanut butter alternative at Trader Joe's called Better'N Peanut Butter and it has 85% less fat than regular peanut butter. Its surprisingly great.
-Soy Delicious just came out with a low fat, fruit sweetened version of Green Tea ice cream that is WAY better than that Celestial Seasonings one. Soy Delicious All the new flavors look really good actually. The Green Tea only has 1.5g of fat/serving. I found it at Whole Foods.
-Whole Foods brand Vegetarian Sausage Links (3g fat/2 links, but okay if you eat them with other SF things)
-Yves Veggie Hot Dogs (0g fat! loads of protein) I've found them at both Safeway and Whole Foods. (Its really hard to find low fat sausage and hot dog alternatives, even chicken or turkey ones, I'm slowly converting to veggie whether I like it or not. For some reason I love hot dogs, comfort food thing I guess.)
-I love Eden Organic Apple Spread (0g fat, no added sugar) It makes a great jam for toast or PB&J, even a slightly sweet dip for tortilla chips. I also found that at Whole Foods.
If I think of anything else I'll be back!
