Some enlightened GI's allow you to get a colonic or two before the colonscopy. Colonics are like enemas, only much much better, and actually quite comfortable to endure, as I've had two already. This eliminates the need for swallowing ANYTHING and getting sick.
I would have a hard time agreeing with this advice. In fact, I would disagree with it. See, while that may be okay for someone who does not have strictures or has not had colorectal surgery or does not have open sores in the colon, it is not okay for someone with Crohn's or colitis who may have these conditions. Perhaps the reason some gastroenterologists allow this depends on the patient, not on their level of enlightenment.
