No problem with the product
My problems are with the delivery - hold up and cost in our customs. These 2 bags now cost me £50 (they used to cost me £25) and the last twice I have incurred £13 costs and I just cannot afford it anymore so will not be purchasing any more. I am very sad and do not know what it will do to my guts but I cannot afford it anymore especially as I have been long term sick and our government are now stopping giving us benefit.

Heather says: Hello Patricia, Thank you for your comments. We are thrilled to hear you are enjoying the Tummy Fiber Acacia Senegal! I am so sorry you did not find the speed of delivery satisfactory. Normally orders to foreign countries take 3-7 business days. Sometimes, however, foreign orders are held up at Customs. It is very frustrating for us as well because it seems to be totally random as to whether Customs will hold an order and for how long. We have customers that order from us regularly for years without any complications and then out of the blue one of their packages will be detained for weeks on end. It has been our experience that Customs can hold packages for 6-8 weeks sometimes. This doesn't happen to all packages, but occasionally especially with larger orders, it can happen. A delay like this is especially likely to happen when there are Customs fees due upon delivery. Sometimes orders will be held at the local post office, awaiting customer pick-up and payment of the Customs fees. This has actually happened in the past without the post office ever notifying the customer that their package was being held. So, you could check and see if your local post office does have the order for you. If things are held up in Customs, we just have to wait until they're finally processed through. All of their contact will be with you, so we never even know if Customs is holding a package until the customer passes this info along to us. If you still have not received your order please let us know. We can provide you with tracking information right away. My apologies, Joanna

I was at my witts ends with ibs
I was told of Acacia Fiber and started to research it and found your site. I purchased a pouch and started the day I received it. (delivery was very quick) I am 2 1/2 weeks into using the product. I take 3/4 tsp in the morning and 3/4 tsp in the evening. I am starting to notice an improvement with how I feel. I will continue to add 1/4 tsp at a time until I am feeling good!! Thank you!

Good Morning, I've not opened or used the packets yet - have them ready for when we depart on our travels.....however, each day I use 1/2 a teaspoon from the large canister of Tummy Tamer while I'm at home.....I've come to rely on this product because it seems to have helped me greatly. The loose/liquid stools accompanied by cramps/sweats/nausea/residual discomfort has been "tamed". Things were most uncomfortable before and I frequently had to just lie down after a bathroom visit to allow my upset system to calm before continuing my day's activities. Now, I go without much thought - the urgency has not been solved and I still need to go twice usually before the day's activities and again in the afternoon - but now I have "shape" and hardly any discomfort at all. As our travels will be in places where things may be a bit primitive, these travel packets will be a life-saver for me - mitigating embarrassment and discomfort without having to use Imodium - a good product but 'gums' me up the other way!!! We both love acacia & the books.
I will be 76 next month, and have had IBS-diarrhea since I was pregnant with my fourth pregnancy,46 years ago. I finally found out four years ago that it was IBS, however the specialist had no idea how to treat it. He said it had nothing to do with food. I was looking up something for a friend on-line, & saw in the side scroll an add "Do you have IBS?" & your site. What a blessing. Without Heather's website and Acacia I might've had to retire very early. Each year I was worse and worse, with IBS-C type. This product really works!
This is a great product. It keeps me regular. This is one product you really need to follow the directions on. Once you find your dosage amount keep it there and it works amazing. Mine right know is at 1/8 of a teaspoon and still works. I may try increasing the dose to 1/4 teaspoon. I know my dosage is lower then what the instructions say but 1/2 teaspoon was to much for me. Great Product!

For about 28 years now, I've suffered IBS with severe constipation. I've been miserable all of my adult life. Your product seems to be helping, however, during my PMS phase, I still missed a couple of days movement. Hopefully, it's just because I haven't been taking the product long enough yet. But, the Fennel tea helped tremendously with the bloating, and gas---as there was hardly any which was a huge relief, and something very new and exciting for me.

Still needs more time
It is too early to tell; I am still having a lot of trouble, but am a dual diagnosis person: Celiac and IBS. Along with the fact that an erroneous dx in an emergency room 20+ years ago resulted in a 4-days later life-saving surgery for a bowel obstruction; though I'd been told I had the 'flu' and was sent home. So, this case is not typical and this flare-up will take time.

Heather says: Hello Andrea, I am so sorry you have not noticed results from the Tummy Fiber yet. Depending on your symptoms, it may take several weeks to reach a resolving daily dose of the Tummy Fiber. Taking too much acacia too fast can cause increased gas and bloating. Acacia is one of the lowest gas-forming fibers out there and going slow makes the gas issue totally avoidable. Please be patient because this really does work. We recommend starting with ½ teaspoon twice a day (daily dose of 1 teaspoon). You can split the daily dose up as many time as you like throughout the day, just divide it by 2 or 3 depending on the frequency you prefer. Try to increase the dose every 4th day or so by a teaspoon (add this to the daily dose). If you get increased gas and bloating by jumping the dose up by a teaspoon, try cutting this in half. Some people with IBS are so sensitive they have to go up at ¼ teaspoons every 4th day. Keep stepping up the dose every 4th day or so until you find a dose that resolves your constipation and/or diarrhea. Constipation is usually resolved with a daily dose of 4-5 tablespoons/day and diarrhea/loose stools usually resolves at a lower dose of 1-3 tablespoons/day. You shouldn't take more than 5 tbsp/day. The maintenance dose is different for each person depending on their specific symptoms. Dietary changes are often necessary to make lasting changes. In the beginning until you stabilize, it works best to take the acacia before each meal to minimize the effect of trigger foods in the meal and to calm the intestines before the food arrives. You may need to keep increasing your daily dose to notice more results. I will also personally email you to continue this conversation if you have further questions. All the best, Joanna

Greatest Product Ever
For years I was told by doctors to eat fiber, broccoli, califlower, celery, apples, etc. For 20+ years I looked for every restroom in every building I entered. When I was 62, my mother told me her father had always peeled apples and called the skins poison. I was intriqued. I came across some literature by Heather and she said don't eat the skins. So I read on. I realized I had IBS. And I learned about soluble and insoluble fiber. I tried the acacia powder. It took 1 month but it changed my life. I told my doctor and he apologized for telling me to gorge on the wrong fiber. He said, "We didn't know." Well, if one has retired smart you dwell on the positive, not past mistakes. There are days I get messed up, of course. But invariably those are the days I messed up my tummy fiber routine. I swear by the product.

Very good product
It has only been a short 3 weeks, but I can already see the aracin senegal working in my system. Along with the Fennel tea, it sooths my stomach afer a meal and inbetween meals. Use with my first cup of Peppermint tea. It has calmed things down.

Very good for IBS
I sprinkle 2 table spoons of Acacia fibre and 2 table spoons of oat bran on to 1 cup of raisin bran cereal with fruit every morning and take 1 gel cap of Flaxseed oil (1000mg) everyday. My IBS symptoms have been reduced by about 90% and my life is almost normal again.

It's working!
I tried an acacia fiber from the local health store first to see if it would work for my IBS. It did so I decided to order from Heather because it was less expensive bought in bulk even with shipping cost factored in. My Chiropractor also recommended plant enzymes because he felt that my food wasn't digesting but fermenting instead and causing gas 24/7. I started on them a week ago and I feel completely normal once again. The tummy fiber has worked when nothing else I have tried didn't. I also like that it's all natural. The downfall is the water temperature has to be just right and I feel like I waste the fiber when I have to dump it out because the water/juice is too cold or too warm. I think this might be the answer to my problems!
This product is tasteless and does not turn into a gel. It is easy to drink. I started by using one quarter teaspoon before each meal. I am now at one teaspoon which seems to be the magic measurement for me. I have tried pills and powders and, so far, this one seems to consistently help me. I can now go back to eating my regular diet while being careful of any of my trigger foods. I am thankful.

Heather says: Hi Frank, I'm so sorry you're having difficulty getting the Tummy Fiber to dissolve. The Tummy Fiber is certified organic, all natural gum of the acacia tree - also known as gum arabic. We have actually sourced the exact same organic Acacia Senegal grade from the same supplier from the time our company was founded. It is collected much like maple syrup, though the gum is more a solid than a liquid. They are amber colored, crystal-like pieces; these pieces are what the acacia gum looks like when it is collected from the outside of the tree. The gum is then dissolved in water, filtered, and the liquid is sprayed onto very large heated surfaces to sterilize the fiber and so the water can evaporate. What's left after the water evaporates is the fine, white powder that is acacia fiber. There are no chemicals used in processing the acacia, and every step from the orchards to the processing to our packaging facility is certified organic. Because this is a natural gum with nothing added, and not a synthetic product that is highly processed, the grain size of the finished powder can vary from lot to lot, and even within a single lot. Even though we have specs in place for the grain size to be consistent and the optimum granularity for dissolving easily in liquids, during the packaging process the conveying and vibrating activities can sometimes separate out larger grains of the gum. This can result in a handful of finished packages of Tummy Fiber that have larger or more irregular grain sizes, which can then take longer to dissolve in liquids. I'm including a list of tips we've come up with over the years to help fully dissolve the acacia in liquids or moist foods. TIPS TO DISSOLVE TUMMY FIBER 1) It works best if the liquid temperature is cool or lukewarm, not very cold or boiling hot 2) Add Tummy Fiber to an empty cup, mix it with add just enough liquid to dissolve it, then add the remaining liquid 3) Stir with a fork instead of a spoon 4) After stirring initially, let it sit for about 60 seconds, then stir again and any remaining lumps should dissolve 5) Sprinkle on moist foods while stirring it in instead of adding a big spoonful all at once 6) A customer recently wrote us to say that he uses a Cuisinart Quick-Prep hand held blender to mix up his Tummy Fiber in just a few seconds. If you are still unable to use the Tummy Fiber and are at all unhappy, please let us know and we will replace or refund the product. Hope this helps, Joanna

Heather says: Hi there, I'm sorry that you've been having trouble finding the right dose of the acacia fiber. It can take a while to work up to the right dose for you, and it is different for each person. Taking too much acacia too fast can cause increased gas and bloating. Acacia is one of the lowest gas-forming fibers out there and going slow makes the gas issue totally avoidable. Please be patient because this really does work. We recommend starting with ½ teaspoon twice a day (daily dose of 1 teaspoon). You can split the daily dose up as many time as you like throughout the day, just divide it by 2 or 3 depending on the frequency you prefer. Try to increase the dose every 4th day or so by a teaspoon (add this to the daily dose). If you get increased gas and bloating by jumping the dose up by a teaspoon, try cutting this in half. Some people with IBS are so sensitive they have to go up at ¼ teaspoons every 4th day. Keep stepping up the dose every 4th day or so until you find a dose that resolves your constipation and/or diarrhea. Constipation is usually resolved with a daily dose of 4-5 tablespoons/day and diarrhea/loose stools usually resolves at a lower dose of 1-3 tablespoons/day. You shouldn't take more than 5 tbsp/day. The maintenance dose is different for each person depending on their specific symptoms. Dietary changes are often necessary to make lasting changes. In the beginning until you stabilize, it works best to take the acacia before each meal to minimize the effect of trigger foods in the meal and to calm the intestines before the food arrives. I have been taking Citrucel for abt 14yrs. But still having the Big D for abt 15 years . So I decided to try this Product hoping it would help. Even tho I was taking 4 Citracel a day. I started out with 1/2 tsp. after trying for a week this product made be very uncomfortable, cramps ,bloated & gas .... So gave up on this and when back to the old citrucel again. Really wish it would have work for me . But no luck. But am glad it works for some people.... Wish there was a miracle pill for this thing they call IBS!! Maybe someday.

Heather says: Feedback Rating Hi Joyce - I'm so sorry you're not feeling better. You may be someone who is extra sensitive to any change in your fiber. Your Citrucel was at a very low dose (4 tablets = 2 grams), so you may need to drop below that dose if you change to the Tummy Fiber. Normally, people can start on ½ teaspoon twice daily (that would be 2 grams), but for people who are just extra sensitive, they may have to start at ¼ teaspoon twice daily. That should not cause any bloating or gas, it should just get your gut used to a change. You can then add an extra ¼ tsp to one of your daily doses every 4-5 days or so, and keep gradually increasing at that rate. Diarrhea does tend to resolve at a lower end of the dose range, but I don't think 2 grams will be enough. On average, diarrhea takes 5-15 grams per day, more typically 10-12 grams per day. If you're willing to start over at a lower dose, I would hope you see big improvements with no side effects. If you prefer to just return the Tummy Fiber for a full refund you are certainly welcome to, and I understand. Best, Heather

When I order the powder, it arrives always in a week or 9 days. This time I waited three weeks. I think this is not your fault, but maybe the delay was caused by the import office. I have been taking the Tummy Fiber since before Christmas. My IBS changed to about every hour - not hard not soft and pretty small. As I encreased so did the gas. Yesterday I went back to Citrecil and even though I am still going frequently I don't have as much gas. I gradually encreased my Tummy Fiber by a half tsp every week and the more I took the more gas I had so I backed off which did no good. I am still on the program along with the CD's Help!!

So far, so good.
Before using your recipes and acacia, I was following 'Great Taste, No Pain' recipes which are just the opposite of yours. The only thing that concerns me is not eating fresh, raw fruit and vegetables which I miss. Other than that I'm pleased with the results.

Heather says: Hi Karen - you can add the Tummy Fiber to any moist food or liquid, or cook with it. For liquids, just add to your glass first then add your beverage, stir and dissolve. You can also add it to bottled water, shake it up, and drink or take with you. Sprinkle on any wet food - hot cereals, guacamole, pastas, soups, sauces, dips, puddings, tuna salad, etc. For baking add 1 T fiber per cup of flour. This product actually works and works quickly.
I use it once or twice a day when i have symptoms. It takes away the cramps and gas and a good amount of bloating. I also have the peppermint capsuls they work as well. Purchaed your product throug Amazon i think. I have followed the rules eat soluable first and tha is working. My question is I am tryin to diet and don't quite know how to balance the "white carbs" if you will. Eating them as the most part of my meal is a little concerning for weight loss. Acacia powder is the best, but shipping is too high.

I didn't expect this to work, nothing has worked before. I have been using the fiber for about 2 1/2 months and it has been nearly six weeks since I've had diarrhea. It seems like a miracle. I was told by doctors to use psyllium which did not work, they said I was taking too much or not enough--so I quit. The Acacia so far has been fine. Have not yet increased dosage.

I began taking 1/4 tsp twice a day ... I've been using this product for the past 2 weeks. I was thrilled when I didn't wake up with nausea from gas buildup during the night - still had the gas - but I developed cramping so I cut back to 1/4 tsp each day which does help but I still need the anti-spasmodic medicine Bentyl but not as much. I still experience 1/2 solid stool in pellet form and some solid and then diarrhea - I am keeping a food journal too but I don't think my system will ever return to normal again. This is my new normal. It's better and I am grateful for that. I also purchased the IBS cookbook which I read for dietary suggestions.

Heather says: Hi Leslie - It's good that you have started the fiber at a low dose, but you need to gradually increase that dose in order to see any benefits. The purpose of starting low, increasing gradually, is to get your gut used to more fiber (fiber is literally indigestible). ¼ tsp is only ½ gram of fiber - that is not enough to get any benefits from. See if you can increase your dose to ½ tsp twice a day. After 4-5 days go to 1 tsp in the am, and still ½ tsp in the pm. After another 4-5 days make both doses 1 tsp. And continue to increase slowly but steadily from there. The gradual increase should prevent gas and bloating. Getting your dose up high enough will help prevent the painful spasms from IBS. Your Product is a miracle in a can
I have suffered from IBS problems since having radiation for Uterine cancer years ago. My GP just talked about watching what I eat, but seemed to take my condition too lightly. One day I decided to check on the Internet to see if I could find something that would apply to my condition. I found Heather's website and to my delight found all the information I needed. Suffice to say, my IBS is very manageable now, and I can eat most foods with no problem. Chocolate is the exception which is an istant trigger to trouble! Heather says: Feedback Rating Hi Dolores - Thanks for your feedback! You are right, the Tummy Fiber dissolves best in room temperature liquids. But, if you want to use the fiber in hot or cold beverages, there is an easy trick for that. Just add the Tummy Fiber to your empty glass, then add only enough room temperature liquid to dissolve it. Once it is liquefied, you can add boiling hot or ice cold liquids to fill the glass and it will be fine. Best, Heather
