Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Re: New DVD for IBS has been released

I have this DVD and had a chance to use it yesterday. I had an issue on Monday and decided to skip my morning run on Tuesday and do the Yoga instead.

I liked it, seemed to help a bit.

I've done Yoga for a few years, typically the harder, more 'Power Yoga' style of things. I really enjoy it so the movements in this DVD felt very easy for me. Nothing was extraordinary or very 'stretchy'. I think the hardest move that was done was probably Plank to Cobra. And that's not very difficult after the first few times you do it (it's a push-up like motion so your arms get a little workout).

The pace - a lot of Yoga routines do seem to move fast at first. After you get the hang of things though, it gets easier. For instance - if you don't know what Downward Facing Dog is, you'll be watching to figure out what move they are doing. By the time you start doing it, they're moving onto the next position. Movements are repeated frequently though so you'll get used to it quick.

I plan on doing this 2 - 3 times a week and seeing how it helps. Worse case scenario, I'll wake up better in the morning:)

Can't say I found much interest in the commentary or the stress booklet. I'll probably show it to my wife though so she has a bit more of an idea of what the issue is (luckily she's been happy to read up on those things too).
