Hi Josie,

There is no reason why you cannot do yoga but Ruchie is right, there are certain posures you will need to avoid or modify in order to cater for your back.

The tapes may advise modifications but have you thought of attending a yoga class? I find this is the best way because the teacher can show you what you should/shouldn't do in relation to your own body and its strengths and weaknesses. You really do get more out of it than from tapes and books. That's just my experience anyway.

I also find there's a certain "atmosphere" in the classes that is lacking when you do it on your own at home.
