Veggie eating is so easy with great summer produce. I stopped by a local farmer's market and was able to get tomatoes (most likely from the Carolinas), cantaloupe, zucchini squash, new potatoes, half-runner string beans, pickling cucumbers, and all of this was a GREAT dinner. Most was local, except for the tomatoes.

I grilled the squash along with some grilled garlic bread, cooked the green beans with new potatoes on top, made some macaroni salad with the tomatoes, ate one of the cukes, and had cantaloupe for dessert. My gosh, with this kind of bounty, who the heck needs meat? All the veggies were misshapen, a bit dirty, some had some spots, but they were REAL. They did not look like the "perfect" veggies in the supermarket, all clean and waxed to hell.

I love veggies and I love summer. Can't wait until the corn comes in. Yeehaw!!
