Good for you to expose yourself to those things, though. Seeing the turkeys at the sanctuary was especially troubling. Two of them had been rescued and they just looked miserable. Turkeys simply aren't meant to be half the size of these turkeys. The hormones and other crap they are pumped full of cause them to literally outgrow their own bodies. Their feathers were falling out, they had sores on their skin, they had a hard time supporting their own weight - and yet all they wanted was affection. It was heartbreaking.
