APPLES: One apple a day, eating whole with the skin, has 3.6 grams of fiber. It's enough for good colon health. It's good for acid in the stomach and diarrhea.

APRICOTS: Have been used to treat constipation and bowel disorders.

BANANAS: Feed the good bacteria in the colon, are good for intestinal disturbances and diarrhea.

BLACKBERRIES: Treat constipation and diarrhea.

BLUEBERRIES: Intestinal upsets.

CRANBERRIES: A good intestinal antiseptic.

CURRANTS: Used to treat diarreha.

FIGS: Kill bacteria and roundworms in the body, are useful in aiding digestion, treating hemorrhoids, and chronic constipation.

GOOSEBERRIES: Have been used to treat intestinal disorders.

GRAPEFUIT: Aid digestion.

GRAPES: Treating constipation.

KIWI: Soluble fiber (contains pectin).

LEMONS: Aid digestion.

MANGOES: Combined with papaya juice helps digestive problems and contains insoluble fiber.

NECTARINES: Prevent constipation.

PAPAYA: Assists digestion, combats diarrhea and constipation, and helps rid the body of intestinal worms.

PEACHES: Assist elimination, improve digestion, decrease gastritis, and relieve constipation.

PEARS: Used to treat colitis. Most of the fiber is insoluble, making pears a good laxative.

PINEAPPLES: Aids digestion.

PLUMS: Relieves constipation and eliminates parasites from the body.

POMEGRANTES: Used to treat hemorrhoids, intestinal worms, diarrhea. They are high in fiber.

STRAWBERRIES: Used to treat diarrhea.

And yes, many vegetables help with constipation, but the MAIN vegetable that can truly help with constipation is...

CORN: Good source of dietary fiber AND IS USEFUL IN TREATING IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME and REGULATING BOWEL FUNCTION.

And, for those who have excessive diarrhea and are losing too much weight, or those who have constipation and are afraid to eat because of becoming constipated, and are losing weight as a result of not eating, corn is also a bone and muscle builder and is good for WEIGHT GAIN.

I hope this helps. I have a book called Prescription for Dietary Wellness, second edition. It's by Phyllis A. Balch, CNC. She is the author of the 5 million copy-bestselling 'prescription for nutritional healing'.

Eating these fruits aren't just beneficial for the bowels, but for other health conditions. If you would like to know more, just write back and I'll add more. Thanks for reading.

Christine
